Purchase select merchandise in the Museum Store marked as a READ! SOAR! EXPLORE! Bonus Point. (10 to 20 points depending on the item)
Take advantage of the opportunities that the Museum offers with their extensive classes and field trips. After you participate in the class or field trip, take what you have learned one step further. Continue to explore and research the topic. Present what you have learned in a creative and thoughtful format to the Museum Store. Or read a book on the subject and write a review of the book applying what you have learned during your class. Or simply write a thank you letter to your instructor telling him/her what you have learned (deliver this letter through us in the Museum Store to earn your points). Imagine you are a paleontologist and you have just discovered a new-feathered dinosaur. What does it look like? What would you name it? Where did it live and what did it eat? Did it fly? Tell us about your discovery in a creative way. Have Fun! (10 points)
Create your own natural history game. Create the game board, pieces cards etc. Bring it in the Museum Store and teach us how to play. (15-20 points)
Go on a Nature Hike, record your observations and or draw sketches and identify some of the plants you see. Show us what amazes you about nature. (5-15 points)
Know the planet. Research Earth, its history, resources and its inhabitants. How can we use the information you gather to preserve and protect Earth? (10-15 points)
Create a travel brochure for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Tell future visitors what not to miss when they are wondering the Museum. Draw or take pictures of your favorite things. Tell everyone that the Museum is a great place to learn. Show us your creative brochure. (10 points)
Are you taking a trip this summer? Show us your travel journal and tell us about your trip. Write a paragraph about your trip or you could even send us a postcard from your travels. Tell us what natural history you are discovering on your trip! (5-10 Points)
