| This handsome statue of Balto was created by Laurence Isard, a nationally recognized artist who specializes in sculpting animals. Balto was the lead dog of the final relay team that delivered diptheria serum to Nome, Alaska during the epidemic of 1925. The statue stands 6 inches tall, is made from resin and plaster, and is finished with a dark brown bronze look. A free booklet with the story of Balto will be included. His mount can be viewed in the museums permanent collection. |
