| Balto was the final lead dog of the relay team that delivered diphtheria serum by sled to Nome, Alaska during the 1925 epidemic. This unconventional method of delivery was the last resort for this snow bound city. Learn more about this famous dog when you visit him at our museum. We created a plush toy in his likeness to honor his story. He is now available, including an information tag detailing how he lived out the remainder of his life in Cleveland. He stands 9 inches tall. Recommended for children 3 and above. |
