Why is it happening? Questions will be answered when students experiment with the phenomena that causes sunlight to get converted into heat energy that gets trapped on the surface of our planet, otherwise known as the green house effect. We will study the reflection and refraction of light as well as energy waves and heat convection. Come explore the connection between these simple principles and the changes in temperature and weather that scientists know as global climate change.

Programs may include hands-on, classroom and/or gallery presentations as appropriate. Students will be grouped by age according to enrollment. Cost of program is $6/person per topic with one adult free. Siblings younger than 6 may not attend these programs for older children.

In response to requests, we are adding programs for 4 and 5 year olds. These hands-on self-directed programs will be related to the topics listed above and run from 1:15 to 2 pm on the same days. Parents are expected to attend with their child. Cost of program is $6/person per topic.
