Starting off with a Bang

Expanding gasses in a confined space, sudden intense heat generated by a chemical reaction – what’s needed to put a bang in your life? Learn what’s going on chemically and physically to accomplish these common fireworks. Don’t experiment on your own – safety will be our concern, before we add some physics to the afternoon.

Programs may include hands-on, classroom and/or gallery presentations as appropriate. Students will be grouped by age according to enrollment. Cost of program is $6/person per topic with one adult free. Siblings younger than 6 may not attend these programs for older children.

In response to requests, we are adding programs for 4 and 5 year olds. These hands-on self-directed programs will be related to the topics listed above and run from 1:15 to 2 pm on the same days. Parents are expected to attend with their child. Cost of program is $6/person per topic.
