People love to put things into groups. Red things here, blue things there and yellow over there. Scientists put things into groups as well by looking at the characteristics of living things. Sometimes an outward appearance, sometimes looking at the insides and now scientists are comparing the DNA of living things to see where they belong. A series of activities will help us classify living things into the groups to which they belong … at least for now!

Programs may include hands-on, classroom and/or gallery presentations as appropriate. Students will be grouped by age according to enrollment. Cost of program is $6/person per topic with one adult free. Siblings younger than 6 may not attend these programs for older children.

In response to requests, we are adding programs for 4 and 5 year olds. These hands-on self-directed programs will be related to the topics listed above and run from 1:15 to 2 pm on the same days. Parents are expected to attend with their child. Cost of program is $6/person per topic.
