A Gathering of Wings: Conservation Bird by Bird
The 2012 Natural Areas Calendar showcases illustrations by local artist Jen Brumfield of bird species found within the more than 5,000 acres protected by The Cleveland Museum of Natural History's Natural Areas Program. It highlights the immense diversity that the Museum's preserves support and the Natural Areas Program's role in regional bird conservation.
Museum natural areas provide resting and nesting habitat for birds both common and rare. Species illustrated in the calendar include Barred Owl, Belted Kingfisher, Wood Duck, Ovenbird, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Pied-billed Grebe, Northern Waterthrush, Sora, Eastern Bluebird, Blue-winged Teal, Le Conte's Sparrow and Horned Lark.
