A fabulous 88 acres right on the shore of Lake Erie is waiting to be explored. The Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve has an interesting natural history. Once part of the lake, the area has been filled with mud suctioned from the Cuyahoga River. Plants and animals have since colonized the area little by little. We will take a look at how nature reclaimed the land, see what wildlife (or evidence of wildlife) is present, and conduct a simple survey of insect life. This adventure will take place rain or shine, so dress accordingly!

*All participants will meet directly at the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve. Transportation is NOT provided.

Topics are prepared and taught for the following age groups: preschool, 6-8 years, and 9-12 years.

Siblings younger than 6 may not attend programs for older children. Programs for 4 and 5 year olds will run from 1:15 to 2 pm on the same days and will be related to the regular homeschool topics. Parents are expected to attend preschool programming with their child.

Fee: $6 per student per topic. One accompanying adult free. Other adults pay $6. NO REFUNDS will be issued.
