6 Inch Dobsonian Telescope
Non-Member Member

SkyQuest XT6 is a quality telescope with a 150mm-diameter, 1200mm focal length parabolic primary mirror that renders excellent images of deep-space objects as well as high-power views of solar system attractions. As you run through the checklist of attributes you've heard are important in a good beginner's telescope, you realize that the classic SkyQuest XT6 meets all the criteria, in spades. Astronomy magazine called it "an excellent entry-level telescope for an adult." Ample light grasp, portable, stable mount, quick setup and take-down, easy to operate and  affordable.  The 45 inch long enameled-steel optical tube glides wtih silky smoothness on the cabinet-quality Dobsonian wood base. You just point the scope and view! Orion-engineered CorrecTension springs keep the tube balanced to perfection and allow the whole unit to be carried together by the handle on the base. The XT6 is outfitted with a 1.25 inch aluminum rack-and-pinion focuser, a 6x30 achromatic finder scope, eyepiece rack, and two fully coated 1.25" Sirius Plössl eyepieces: a 25mm for low-power views and a 10mm for getting in close.  The mirror is center-marked for precise collimation. Base assembly required. Complete instructions included. Total weight, 34 lbs, 06 oz.. One-year limited warranty.
