Meet Radar, our new Barn Owl
The Museum recently welcomed a captive-born, hand-raised barn owl from the Hawk Creek Wildlife Center in upstate New York. He is four months old, but full grown. He is not on display, but lives in the Armington Raptor Center and will be trained for use in educational programs, live animal programs and outreach programs.
The Museum conducted a survey of guests and friends, and Radar was selected as the owl's new name. The name is based on the otherworldly senses of the barn owl's sight and hearing.
