Monthly Programs
January: Coping with the Cold
The bitter cold and howling winds of winter present a major survival challenge to Ohio's wildlife. Migration, hibernation and changing habitats and diets are some of the strategies animals use to survive. Explore the adaptations of Ohio's wild animals that allow them to survive the sometimes brutal conditions of winter.
February: Groundhog Shadows & 'Possum Tails
Does the groundhog really rouse itself on February 2 to seek its shadow? Does an opossum hang by its tail to sleep? Can a snake grab its tail, form a hoop and roll down a hill? We will solve these and other great mysteries of natural history in a program that focuses on wildlife myths and misconceptions.
