Learn which birds are commonly found in Ohio and hear recordings of their calls.

Ohio Insects

Displays along this corridor show insects that can be found in various habitats in Ohio and those that are common household and agricultural pests. You can also see exhibits of butterflies, skippers and beetles.

Ohio Ecology

See the animals that are native to Ohio and several habitats in which you would find them.

Smead Discovery Center

The Discovery Center is the Museum’s hands-on learning center for all ages. Play the Birdsong Piano, observe live animals, touch more than 60 natural history objects on our Touch Wall and look at specimens through a microscope.

Science Resource Center

The Science Resource Center is dedicated to providing educators of Northeast Ohio with the skills, material and information to present science lessons in an interdisciplinary manner that is accurate, effective and engaging. The center houses more than 4,000 educational items available for loan (membership required). We also present a wide variety of professional development opportunities, many of which offer the benefit of graduate-level credit through local colleges and universities for an additional fee.
