Humans: A Field Guide

October 27, 2007 through April 27, 2008

Location: Kahn Hall
Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to explore the question, what is a human? We all know something about ourselves, but what do we really know? What makes our bodies what they are? How did we get this way? What makes us different than other mammals?

Humans: A Field Guide will explore these and other relevant questions about Homo sapiens and the complex systems that make up our bodies. Like any organism, humans are prone to breakdowns-illness, pain and the occasional defective part. Be it the good, the bad and the ugly, we are what we are for a single reason–evolution.

Humans: A Field Guide will approach the structure and function of our bodies through the lens of evolution. Visitors will be asked to consider the evolving nature of the human form – our past, present and future.

Sponsored by The Albert G. and Olive H. Schlink Foundation. Educational sponsorship by Giant Eagle.
