Berger Preserve

The Berger Preserve has three important natural features, typical Lake Plain Swamp Forest, Buttonbush Shrub Swamp and Wheeler Creek Floodplain. A very high quality vernal pond dominated by buttonbush is present on the Berger Property. The pond is appropriate breeding habitat for wood frogs and mole salamanders. A fine population of cardinal flower is present on the western section of the property adjacent to Wheeler Creek.
