Invertebrate paleontology, including fossil crustaceans, millipedes and problematical organisms; recent studies have included investigations of the defensive mechanisms and breathing pores of Coal Age millipedes and inquiries into the affinities and ecology of the fossil tubeworm Sphenothallus; building stones and gravestones of Northeast Ohio; marble bowing; natural history of the Ohio canals and of Northeast Ohio
