Frank Wilcox (1887-1964) was a painter, printmaker, educator, and native of Cleveland, best known for his watercolor art and his 40 years of teaching at the Cleveland School of Art. Wilcox traveled abroad for training and inspiration, but he always remained fascinated with Ohio history, culture, and scenery.
Ohio Indian Trails was originally published in 1933 as a traveler's guide to sites of Native American historical significance in the state. In addition to the 3rd edition copy pictured, the Museum also owns two copies of the 1st edition, one with a presentation signature by the author. Ohio Indian Trails contains 36 ink illustrations, all by the author himself.
