Hamann Todd Cast Collection

These casts are much older than the Museum cast collection and illustrate the results of late-19th century casting methods. All of these casts are plaster casts.

The highlights of the Hamann Todd Cast Collection include:
• Fossil casts from a number of sites known in the1800's and early 1900's including:
    Spy, Neanderthal (1856)
    Gibraltar (1830)
    Taung
    Kabwe
    Cro-Magnon
• Specially made casts of the Piltdown man
• Reconstructions of the heads of several fossil hominids and great apes
• Teaching / Exhibit wall mounts (half casts)
• Endocranial casts of famous persons, fossil hominoids and extant primates

The fossil cast material was purchased through Kny-Scheerer in Berlin and Gerrards in London.
