About Us

The Center for Conservation & Biodiversity unites all of the Museum’s conservation-related work.

The center draws on the Museum’s extensive biological collections, including its more than 70,000-specimen herbarium, to guide the conservation and stewardship of the region’s native biodiversity through research and education.

About Our Work

• We provide insight into the state of local biodiversity through our extensive fieldwork, which also helps build the Museum's biological collections.
• We identify, protect and steward rare natural communities in Northern Ohio through the Natural Areas Program.
• We provide conservation information to public and private landowners through the Conservation Outreach Program.

	Nominations for the 2008 award are due June 30, 2008.

In conjunction with the Museum’s annual Conservation Symposium, the Museum honors a local teacher involved with conservation education. Teachers can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. The selection committee evaluates each nominee based on their involvement with conservation education regarding the region’s native biodiversity.
