Museum Treasure Hunt

FREE with your program or self-guided visit!
Grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12
A general tour of the galleries will turn up hundreds of fascinating objects. But which are the truly unique treasures of
the Museum? To make your self-guided visit (or the self-guided time after your instructed visit) an even more effective
learning time, request a copy of our Museum Treasure Hunt. Our general worksheets guide your students in a search to
explore, investigate and analyze the Museum’s outstanding treasures. Please request worksheet masters when you make
your reservation.

Smead Discovery Center

FREE with your program or self-guided visit!
• Free with Museum admission. • No reservations required. • Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10 am to 4:30 pm • Wednesday 10 am to 8 pm; Sunday, 1 to 4:30 pm.
Bring your students to explore our hands-on learning center on the Museum’s lower level. We have activities for preschoolers
and “brain buster” puzzles for students who need a challenge. Staff are always on hand to answer your questions and enhance
your experience. Our activities complement the Museum’s traveling and permanent exhibits and are suitable for all ages. • Touch more than 60 hands-on fossils, minerals, rocks, shells, animal skins, and cultural items. • Observe live animals, such as amphibians, insects, and arachnids. • Dig and uncover dinosaur bones, footprints, and other fascinating fossils in our Fossil Dig. • Try out our kid-friendly microscopes and discover the natural world up close. • Play a Bird Song Piano. Listen to and view 36 Ohio bird species as you press each key on the piano.

Adults must stay with and supervise their students and/or children at all times.
