As the glaciers retreated at the end of the last ice age, they left a bountiful gift of connected rivers, lakes, and wetlands across the heartland of North America. Today, these largely unknown water highways remain an oasis for wildlife, from the herds of bison that roam part of the Great Plains to the honeybees that pollinate our crops to the millions of magnificent birds that migrate along these "flyways."
Wings Over Water, narrated by Michael Keaton, tells the story of three amazing bird species—the sandhill crane, the yellow warbler, and the mallard duck—that depend on wetlands for survival. Through extraordinary footage, you’ll experience the triumphs and challenges of these remarkable creatures as they head home to raise their young, soaring across mountains, deserts, cities, and forests. You will also meet the dedicated land stewards and scientists who understand the importance of protecting wetlands—a diverse and vital ecosystem.
Wings Over Water is included with general admission.
