Join the Friends of CMNH on the second Saturday of each month at 10am for coffee and conversation, followed at 10:30am by the Friends of CMNH Science Series.

In this presentation, Devin Mingesbruney, Coordinator of Ohio Lights Out, will share an update on these important efforts.

The expansion of urban areas poses significant threats to migratory birds, primarily due to light pollution and the extensive use of glass in modern architecture. Light pollution attracts birds to cities, where they often collide with glass windows, resulting in an estimated 1 billion bird deaths annually in the United States. Ohio Lights Out uses a collaborative approach to mitigate bird collisions by working with building owners, community members, and a network of organizations to reduce light pollution and make urban environments safer for migratory birds.

This event is open to the public. Registration is required, whether you plan to attend the 10:30am talk in person or virtually. The deadline to register is 5pm the day before the program. You will receive a Zoom link the day before the presentation.
