September is a time of peak activity for late-summer insects (and all arthropods!) on the blooms at Mentor Marsh.
Join us as we look for and tag monarchs, keeping an eye out for skippers, dragonflies, damselflies, bees, wasps, flies, moths, beetles, bugs, spiders, and other butterflies. Will we find caterpillars, too? Along the way, we’ll discuss life cycles and how these animals survive the winter.

About Mentor Marsh Guided Nature Hikes
The Carol H. Sweet Nature Center is located at 5185 Corduroy Road in Mentor. From November through March, a naturalist will staff the Nature Center from 11am to 4pm on the first Sunday of the month. From April through October, the Nature Center will be staffed from noon to 5pm on Sundays.
Guided, family-friendly nature hikes are offered every Sunday at 2pm. Meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise indicated. Our programs are a go in all but severe weather, so please come prepared for the weather conditions. We recommend long pants and sturdy shoes, as some trails may be muddy.
