Current Job Openings
As Ohio’s largest natural history museum, we use our vast collections and state-of-the-art facilities to contribute to scientific understanding worldwide. Our scientists conduct research across a variety of disciplines, making groundbreaking discoveries about early human ancestors, ancient Ohio, animal and plant life around the world, and more. We steward more than 12,500 acres of wild habitats through our Natural Areas Program, working to protect the environment of northern Ohio and the diverse species that call it home. The museum is seeking a dedicated professional to join our Protection Services team.
Seasonal Land Steward
If you care deeply about land, ecosystems, and doing real, physical work that protects native habitats, this role puts you right where science meets stewardship. This isn’t just seasonal labor, it’s conservation in action. Your work directly supports the protection of ecosystems that define Northeast Ohio and contribute to global scientific understanding.
Seasonal Restoration Crew Lead
This is seasonal, field-based work for someone who doesn’t want to watch conservation happen from the sidelines you want to be out there, leading it. As a Seasonal Restoration Crew Lead, you’ll play a key role in stewarding fragile ecosystems throughout Northeast Ohio. You’ll help guide Restoration Technicians, manage invasive species projects, and contribute directly to restoring native plant communities that support long-term biodiversity.
Seasonal Restoration Technicians
This is not a desk job. This is boots-on-the-ground stewardship- leading crews, restoring native ecosystems, and doing meaningful work that shows up on the land itself. This is for someone who doesn’t mind getting dirty, moving through rough terrain, and doing hands-on work that quietly but meaningfully restores ecosystems. Position Duration: This is a seasonal position with the 3 month postion running from May 11th through August 13th. The 6 month opportunity will run from May 11th through November 12th.
