Conversations with Women in STEAM: Margot Lee Shetterly

Join the Cleveland Museum of Natural History as we welcome author Margot Lee Shetterly, who will kick off our new series Conversations with Women in STEAM.

Shetterly is the author of Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race, a 2016 New York Times bestseller. A powerful exploration of early intersectionality in the workplace, Hidden Figures illuminates the day-to-day lives of Black women pursuing their dreams during the civil rights era.

This conversation will focus on the impact of women in STEAM careers and Shetterly's role in bringing them to the forefront.

Immediately following the program, Shetterly will sign copies of Hidden Figures for guests. You may purchase a book in advance when you reserve your ticket. Books will also be available for purchase at the Museum before and after the program.

Doors open at 6pm; the program will begin at 7pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Museum’s Origins Café before the program.
