About the Greater Cleveland Choral Chapter

Founded in October 1975 by Rev. Earl Preston Jr., the Greater Cleveland Choral Chapter is the longest continually active community gospel choir in the City of Cleveland. The Chapter has become an integral part of Cleveland's gospel music landscape, singing in practically every church on the city's East and West Sides, and performing at such prestigious venues as Music Hall, Severance Hall (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), Trinity Cathedral (Episcopal), Cleveland State University, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition, the Chapter has developed a longstanding relationship with the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Western Reserve Historical Society. The Chapter, whose motto is “Serving God and the Community, through our Ministry of Music," has also recorded two projects, sung at nursing homes and hospitals, and participated in benefit programs throughout the city.
