Friends of CMNH Science Series | NASA In Ohio: History, Facilities, and Research Efforts

Join the Friends of CMNH on the second Saturday of each month at 10am for coffee, refreshments, and conversation, followed at 10:30am by the Friends of CMNH Science Series.

David Fuller, a systems engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center, will provide an overview of the current Glenn facilities and research efforts, as well as his 45-year career in space and aviation operations, human factors, organizational performance, safety, and his current passion: emergency and disaster response operations.

The NASA Glenn Research Center, located next to Hopkins Airport, provides many facilities for research in aeronautics, aircraft propulsion, space propulsions, communications technology, materials and structures for extreme environments, and the physical sciences in general.

Glenn is essential to the Ohio economy, fueling industries, supporting job growth, and increasing the demand for a highly skilled workforce. According to an economic impact study by Cleveland State University, Glenn’s impact in Ohio was over $2 billion per year. The center’s activities in Ohio created and supported nearly 9,000 jobs, increasing labor income by over $842 million.
