Join us as we celebrate the spring equinox by immersing ourselves in the sights and sounds of the Museum's Windsor Woods Preserve.

Nestled in the wild Grand River Lowlands, Windsor Woods boasts expansive meadows and swamp forests. We’ll wander through them, pausing to watch birds course over open wetlands or muskrats tend their domed lodges. We’ll keep our ears peeled for the insects and amphibians waking up after the long winter. And, if we’re lucky, we may spy the earliest of our native wildflowers, which carpet the preserve in a spectacular display every spring.

In order to protect its habitat and all the species that call it home, Windsor Woods is not usually open to the public. But we do like to share it when we can. Join us as Museum naturalists open the preserve for this special hike. We look forward to seeing you!
