Join the Friends of CMNH on the second Saturday of each month at 10am for coffee, refreshments, and conversation, followed at 10:30am by the Friends of CMNH Science Series.
Dr. Erica Matheny, Executive Director of Tinker’s Creek Watershed Partners, will share how TCWP has led the multi-year ecological restoration of Darrow Road Park in Hudson, Ohio, aimed at improving water quality, reconnecting floodplains, and rebuilding habitat within the Tinker’s Creek watershed. This presentation highlights the collaborative, science-based approach in partnership with the City of Hudson, regional construction and design firms, and community partners.
Learn how field assessments, hydrologic modeling, native plantings, and green infrastructure were used to address erosion, stormwater impacts, and habitat loss. The talk will also explore how community engagement, grant funding, and long-term monitoring support lasting restoration outcomes.
This effort also shows how local stream restoration projects can strengthen watershed resilience, protect downstream resources, and connect residents to the natural systems that sustain their communities.
This event is open to the public. Registration is required, whether you plan to attend the 10:30am talk in person or virtually. You will receive the Zoom link in your registration confirmation email.
