Where Science & Imagination Meet
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History has released its new strategic plan, Where Science & Imagination Meet. The plan highlights four strategic areas of focus: audience engagement, scientific leadership, lifelong learning, and organizational excellence.
The goals and objectives outlined in the plan will elevate the Museum as an essential destination for Northeast Ohio residents and visitors of all ages and backgrounds. And it will further establish the Museum as a major contributor to the economic, educational, and civic vitality of Cleveland. The areas of focus will guide the institution as it rethinks how it plans, hires, and organizes to maximize its operations.
The Museum is currently undergoing a major transformation of its campus and visitor experience, including an expansion, a complete reinstallation of its exhibits, and the addition of new public spaces. As the institution works to pioneer a new model for natural history museums worldwide, it is taking the opportunity to ask, listen, and evolve to meet the needs of its diverse communities.
The physical and programmatic transformation of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is underpinned by a vision to promote scientific literacy and empower individuals to be a voice for the planet in their communities. With this vision at the forefront, the Museum’s strategic plan will guide the institution’s activities through the completion of this project in 2024 and its operations in the new and reimagined spaces.
