Group Volunteering

At the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, our mission is to inspire, through science and education, a passion for nature, the protection of natural diversity, the fostering of health, and leadership to a sustainable future. Our Group Volunteer Program guidelines prioritize our visitors, volunteers, and staff alike. All volunteers must abide by these guidelines to participate.

Purpose

Our Group Volunteering Program provides a unique opportunity for companies, organizations, and community groups to contribute to this mission through team-based volunteer activities. Below are the guidelines and expectations for groups participating in our volunteer program.

Participation Requirements

  • Group Size: We can accommodate groups ranging from 4 to 15 participants, depending on the specific project and department needs.
  • Age Requirement: Group participants must be 16 years or older. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
  • Application Form: A group leader must submit a group volunteer application form, including the number of participants, preferred dates, and any special skills or interests.
  • Scheduling: All group volunteering opportunities must be scheduled at least 4 weeks in advance to allow for proper planning.
  • Commitment: Groups are expected to commit to at least a 2-hour volunteer session. Specific times and tasks will be arranged based on department needs and group availability.
