In 2024, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History opened a new, state-of-the-art collections facility to rehouse most of its permanent collections. Established on the first level of a 50,000-square-foot addition, the collections facility is divided into five ranges: biological anthropology, biology, archaeology and Earth sciences, paleontology, and a specialized dry storage space for Cleveland Shale and pyrite-susceptible collections.
